A full day

We started our day by eating cereal while staring at the ocean. Not bad for a Wednesday morning!

We spent a lot of time on the beach, and with the wind blowing and the cool temperatures, we had to bundle up pretty good.

We came back in for lunch (sandwiches and chips), then all three of us had a nap. We put Biscuit down first, and Jeff and I sat on the balcony reading. But Biscuit wasn't too keen on being in the room by himself. So because Jeff and I are such caring and wonderful parents, we decided to take a nap with him. We'll do whatever we have to do to help our son, even if it's forcing ourselves to take an afternoon nap on vacation!

Anyway, after our nap, we all got showered up and dressed. We put Biscuit in his cowboy outfit, then we headed one town over for the annual Halloween Hootenanny. One of the clubs in town puts on a big Halloween event at the local Little League baseball field. Everything was free -- admission, games, hot dogs, drinks, cotton candy and kettle corn.

Biscuit played games and jumped in two different bouncy houses. He got a bunch of candy from the games he played. And then, just for good measure, we stopped and let him trick-or-treat at one house. The house was covered in lights and Halloween decorations, plus there were other kids there, too. So we let Biscuit walk up and do his thing.

And that completed our full day.

Here are some pictures from today:

Biscuit was really excited when I told him we were going down to play in the sand.
The second pelican almost got splashed by that wave.

Biscuit loves to throw things. Unfortunately, the sea gulls
thought he was throwing food, and we had to make him stop.

Jeff and Biscuit waited until the waves got close, then they ran.

It looks like Biscuit is having a terrible time, doesn't it?!?

A family self-portrait. Can you see the camera reflection in my sunglasses?

Sun, blue skies and sea gulls.

The waves were still pretty rough from the storm leftovers.

The end of the pier is gone, but I can't remember whether
it went away with the last storm or this most recent one.
Cowboy Biscuit at the beach.

Sunset on the ocean.

Biscuit was trying to throw a ring on one of the pegs on
the bat. He got candy even though he didn't ring one.

BOUNCY HOUSE!!!!!

This ball didn't go quite high enough, but Jeff helped him with the next shot.

This game was a sure winner. There's a bucket on the end of the fishing line.
You throw the bucket over the wall, the boys put in three fun-size candy bars,
then you pull the bucket back over the wall. Biscuit didn't care, 'cause he was fishin'.
