Decorations

Our house is finally decked-out for Christmas. Biscuit has been going around the house making comments on everything.

I set out his play Nativity set, and he immediately put it in his horse corral. I've seen cars and firetrucks and horses inside the corral. He keeps asking me if different toys and vehicles can go visit Jesus.

We had our shingles replaced this past week, and our roofer (who happens to be our neighbor) had to come make an adjustment to a vent pipe in the attic this evening.

He saw Biscuit's Nativity set and asked him, "Is that the manger?"

"No," Biscuit answered. "That's just where Jesus lives."

Jeff wrapped the banisters this year. I've had the garlands for 9 years now. I bought them the first year we were in the house. They were really inexpensive, but we've never even had to replace any bulbs. Well, until this year.

Jeff had to spend a couple of hours replacing lights in them, and since it's my favorite decoration we put up, I was really thankful to him.

Biscuit can't pass the tree without telling us which ornaments are his favorite. Then he asks us which ones are our favorites. He likes his new Mickey firefighter. I like the photo ornaments of Biscuit's first couple of Christmases. And Jeff likes Donner, the baseball-playing reindeer.

Here are a few pictures of our decorations:

Assorted Nativities on the TV cabinet.

An ornament Biscuit made last year.

Mickey the Firefighter is on the very bottom, so Biscuit can
walk by and touch him every time he passes the tree.

Biscuit's first Christmas. This is one of my favorite ornaments.

Biscuit's second Christmas.

Donner's name is written across the back of
his jersey. This is Jeff's favorite ornament.

We have the old-fashioned C9 bulbs all the way down
the outside of our fence. That fence is the first thing you see
when you turn into the neighborhood. It's very festive.

These candy canes go all the way down the sidewalk.

The wreath on the front door. It's kind of old. I might update it next year.

This wreath is on the inside of the front door.
It jingles every time you open or close the door.

Biscuit saw his apron and said, "I can wear that when
we make cookies?" He remembered us doing it last year.

The bannisters and the tree are really pretty with all the other lights off.

According to Biscuit, this is where Jesus lives.

This is our kitschy corner. We have Frosty, who dances; Rudolph
character jingle bells and a Charlie Brown clock that plays carols on the hour.
